In celebration of International Education Week, Babson College Dominican students hosted five college students from the Dominican Republic on their campus as part of the Global Dominican Academic Exchange program, from November 2-8, 2015. The students bonded over cultural similarities while also being immersed in American-style business classes at Babson College. The agenda for the week included campus tours of Babson College and Harvard University, along with tours of historic sites of downtown Boston, museum visits, and basketball games. During the day students had the opportunity to attend business classes with their hosts, selecting the courses based on their majors and personal interests. InteRDom representatives just finished an exciting few days celebrating International Education Week with the University of Rhode Island in Kingston, by participating in a handful of the numerous events planned on campus from November 17 – 21, 2014 designed to increase students’ awareness of and participation in international study, internship, work and volunteer programs. On Tuesday, November 18, InteRDom participated in Going Global: Finding an International Program that is Right for You, which was an informal discussion with URI College of Nursing faculty and alumni sharing their international experiences, hosted by the URI College of Nursing. For the second consecutive year, InteRDom representatives will attend the 2014 CIEE Annual Conference from November 21-22 in Baltimore, Maryland. The conference is hosted by a leader in the study abroad industry, the Council on International Educational Exchange (CIEE), and this will be the third time InteRDom has participated in this leading conference on international education. This year’s conference themes are: “Breaking Barriers: Cost. Curriculum. Culture.,” which CIEE explains, saying: “Together we must forge solutions for addressing the critical barriers facing study abroad, which is to make study abroad more affordable; Integrate international perspectives into curriculum; Communicate the benefits of international education; and attract more students to study abroad.” These are very important topics to InteRDom, as it continues...
