On Thursday, August 7, 2008 InteRDom ended its summer program with its final event, a closing ceremony and photo exhibition at Casa de Teatro in the Colonial Zone. During the ceremony, InteRDom Representative, Sarah Romero, thanked invited guests for their support throughout thesummer semester and provided a brief introduction to the slideshow that followed, featuring photos of all the excursions, activities and seminars that the interns participated in over the course of the summer program. After the slide presentation, students and their guests enjoyed a spread of delicious appetizers and danced to merengue, salsa and Spanish-pop well into the night.
The event was a great success; the relaxed environment provided the perfect setting for friends and representatives from Universidad Iberoamericana (UNIBE), FUNGLODE, Falcondo, Pan American Development Foundation, FINJUS and Alianza ONG to socialize with students and bid them farewell prior to their departure.
InteRDom, the premier internship and academic study program in the Dominican Republic, offers students the opportunity to gain professional experience by interning with Dominican organizations and businesses related to their field of study. The Program fosters and promotes the professional, academic and cultural exchange of students, professionals, universities and public, private and non-profit institutions in the Dominican Republic. It significantly contributes to the development of the nation’s employment sector and the advancement of academic research, while providing spaces for personal and professional growth, internationalization and multicultural understanding.
