InteRDom representatives returned to Drexel University for the second spring in a row to present a special screening of the film La Montaña (The Mountain) on Thursday, April 16. This event was organized in collaboration with the Drexel University Spanish Club to promote internship opportunities available through InteRDom, and to encourage students to apply for InteRDom’s 2015 summer and fall programs.
The event attracted Drexel students interested in Latino culture and Spanish language, as well as individuals interested in seeing the film. In a short presentation before the film, InteRDom highlighted programs they offer and introduced alumnus Sean Coffey, who also spoke about his internship experience in the Dominican Republic from September 2014 through March 2015. The students were excited to learn about the InteRDom program and the opportunities available to them in the Dominican Republic, and many signed up to receive more information about how to apply.
InteRDom would like to thank members of Drexel’s Spanish Club, for helping to organize and co-hosting this event, and Sean for sharing his experience with other students.
InteRDom, an initiative of Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) and Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (FUNGLODE), is the premier internship, research and academic study program in the Dominican Republic. It offers international students the opportunity to research important topics at the forefront of the United Nations agenda, obtain professional experience by interning with Dominican organizations and businesses related to their fields of study and/or earn academic credits by taking courses and seminars at a local university.
