InteRDom Visits GW Study Abroad Office, Presents to Students

During a visit to Washington D.C. on March 2-3, 2011, InteRDom representatives solidified relations with students and the study abroad office at George Washington University by conducting an information session for interested students through the Career Center and a meeting with Robert Hallworth, Director of Study Abroad.

GW_fair_after_250On Wednesday, March 2, InteRDom showed a video and gave a presentation to students on the undergraduate, graduate and gap-year programs and opportunities available to students in the Dominican Republic.  Students had the opportunity to speak with InteRDom representatives and pose questions about the internationalization of their resumes and the transfer of credits back to their home university.
The following day, InteRDom representatives visited the office of Study Abroad to speak with the director about the possibility of becoming an affiliated program and hosting more individual students and faculty-lead programs.  A number of GW students have participated in the program in past years, but establishing this important connection with the Study Abroad office will facilitate the process and bring a greater number of students to the Dominican Republic in the future.

This visit to George Washington University was not the first for InteRDom, as GW is an annual stop in its promotional agenda.  The visit served to further enhance and solidify the important relationship that has been created between the University and InteRDom’s parent institutions, Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) and Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (FUNGLODE).

The internship program, InteRDom, an initiative of Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) and Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (FUNGLODE), is the premier internship, research and academic study program in the Dominican Republic. It offers international students the opportunity to research important topics at the forefront of the United Nations agenda, obtain professional experience by interning with Dominican organizations and businesses related to their fields of study and/or earn academic credits by taking courses and seminars at a local university.
