InteRDom representatives shared many opportunities for international students interested in the Dominican Republic at the International Opportunities Fair at the University of Pennsylvania (UPenn) in Philadelphia, on November 5, 2015.
There was a steady stream of students who attended the fair, both from UPenn and three other top liberal arts colleges in the Philadelphia area: Haverford, Bryn Mawr, and Swarthmore Colleges. Representatives spoke to many students interested in the InteRDom and Fellows Program offerings, as well as Dominican diaspora students from Grupo Quisqueyano who are interested in hosting another Global Dominican Academic Exchange (GDAE) on their campus in the near future.
InteRDom, an initiative of Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) and Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (FUNGLODE), is the premier internship, research, and academic study program in the Dominican Republic. It offers international students the opportunity to research important topics at the forefront of the United Nations agenda, obtain professional experience by interning with Dominican organizations and businesses related to their fields of study and/or earn academic credits by taking courses and seminars at a local university.
