InteRDom representatives were pleased to be one of the pioneer organizations at the first-annual Summer & Fall Internship Fair at The New School in New York City. The New School takes an innovative approach to education, with seven academic divisions that represent Social Research, Public Engagement, Liberal Arts, Music, Drama and Design. The fair was organized by the Office of Career Development who recruited more than 20 organizations representing a wide-range of fields.
The majority of students who visited with InteRDom at the fair were enthusiastic graduate and graduating students interested in urban policy, international relations and development. Many students were also interested in the Fellows Program, which provides opportunities for M.S., M.A., and Ph.D. candidates interested in conducting high level research in the Dominican Republic on issues related to sustainable development. InteRDom collected dozens of resumes at the fair and is excited to build relationships with students from The New School.
In addition to meeting students at the fair, InteRDom representatives were able to network with other organizations represented and form connections with the New School’s Eugene Lang College of Liberal Arts Study Abroad Office.
InteRDom, an initiative of Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) and Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (FUNGLODE), is the premier internship, research and academic study program in the Dominican Republic. It offers international students the opportunity to research important topics at the forefront of the United Nations agenda, obtain professional experience by interning with Dominican organizations and businesses related to their fields of study and/or earn academic credits by taking courses and seminars at a local university.
