InteRDom, in collaboration with program alumnus and correspondent, Carlos Gonzalez, is thrilled to host an information session and correspondent presentation at St. Peter’s University on Thursday, March 20, 2014 from 12:00 – 1:00 pm. The event will be held in the Political Science department at 813 Montgomery Street in Jersey City, New Jersey.

Jersey City, NJ 07306Through this event, InteRDom representatives will promote available internships in the political science field in the Dominican Republic for the 2014 summer term. Gonzalez will also give a presentation on his experience as an InteRDom intern and correspondent, and will be available to speak with interested students about the program. Dr. Anna Brown and Dr. Alexander Mirescu, political science professors at St. Peter’s University, will also be in attendance.

Gonzalez is an undergraduate student at St. Peter’s University, majoring in political science with a minor in communications, and is an InteRDom Correspondent after completing his internship program in the summer of 2013. For his internship, Gonzalez served in the role of Assistant Researcher for ongoing projects on the social and ecological causes and impacts of the growth of Lake Enriquillo, through INTEC University, in the border region of the Dominican Republic.

InteRDom, an initiative of Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) and Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (FUNGLODE), is the premier internship, research and academic study program in the Dominican Republic. It offers international students the opportunity to research important topics at the forefront of the United Nations agenda, obtain professional experience by interning with Dominican organizations and businesses related to their fields of study and/or earn academic credits by taking courses and seminars at a local university.
