The Global Dominican Academic Exchange Program (GDAE) is pleased to open the application period for the second consecutive GDAE “The Yale Experience”, to take place October 9-16, 2016 at the Yale University, in New Haven, Connecticut. Applications will be received until September 16, 2016.
The Global Dominican Academic Exchange program, a project of the Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) and its sister institution in the Dominican Republic, Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (FUNGLODE), aims to introduce Dominican students to the American style of liberal arts education and encourage dialogue between Dominican students and their American counterparts attending these institutions, thereby fostering and inspiring partnership and entrepreneurship initiatives which will promote innovation and stimulate Dominican economic development and international understanding.
Dominican undergraduate students in the social sciences area, including Economics, Psychology, Anthropology, Geography, History, Political Science, International Relations, Law, and Sociology, from both public and private universities in the Dominican Republic are encouraged to apply.
Accepted students will be welcomed by their hosts, the Dominican Student Organization, QuisqueYalies, at Yale University. Each participant will be matched with a Yale student based on mutual interests and study area, and the participants will be housed with that student and attend classes with them throughout the week. QuisqueYalies, celebrating the Hispanic Heritage Month, is planning a series of academic and social events designed to promote dialogue and exchange with other students and professors around topics of great importance; such as panel discussions, tours of the campus and museums, meet and greet with professors, and more.
