InteRDom is presently recruiting professors and/or graduate students with expertise in the area of public health and development to develop a report on aspects and current trends in public health and development in the Dominican Republic to be submitted to the United Nations Commission on Population and Development. The aforementioned report will be developed in collaboration with Global Foundation for Democracy and Development and Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo’s Center for Global Studies and the Government of the Dominican Republic at the request of the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs (DESA).
The Center for Global Studies, an initiative of Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) and Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (FUNGLODE), was established by President Fernandez in 2009 in order to coordinate the participation of GFDD and FUNGLODE before the various organs, programs and agencies of the United Nations systems in which it holds consultative status, as a means to give greater voice to issues of particular relevance to the Dominican Republic and the region. GFDD and FUNGLODE are private, non-partisan, non-profit institutions, created by Dr. Leonel Fernandez, President of the Dominican Republic, with the purpose of formulating innovative and strategic proposals on global issues related to national interests that contribute to the creation of effective public policies related to the economic and social development and democratic consolidation of the Dominican Republic, Latin America and the Caribbean.
InteRDom fosters and promotes the professional, academic, scientific, technological and cultural exchange of students and professionals in public, private and non-profit organizations of the Dominican Republic. It significantly contributes to the development of the nation’s employment sector and the advancement of academic research, while providing spaces for personal growth, internationalization and multicultural understanding.
