This spring InteRDom will continue its long and valuable relationship with Columbia University by attending two important events to reach out to students: the Civic Engagement Networking Night on Thursday, February 24th and the Not-for-Profit and Public Service Career Fair on Friday, March 4th.
The Civic Engagement Networking Night is an opportunity for students and organizations to connect and discuss opportunities and shared interests in political, activist and humanitarian work. It is sponsored by the University’s Student Governing Board and the Center for Career Education. This will be the first year that InteRDom has participated in the event to share opportunities related to these fields that exist in the Dominican Republic.
For the third consecutive year, InteRDom representatives will attend the Not-for-Profit and Public Service Career Fair, which attracts over 1,000 Columbia and partner school students and alumni. Students have the opportunity to collect information about the programs and services that InteRDom offers, and to speak to program representatives about how an internship or research experience in the Dominican Republic can help them achieve their academic and career goals. In the past, this fair has been very beneficial for InteRDom, garnering numerous student applications to participate in the program.
InteRDom is excited to continue to cultivate its relationship with Columbia University through these very important activities that will afford the program the opportunity to connect directly with students.
InteRDom Internships in the Dominican Republic, a program of Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) and Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (FUNGLODE) is the premier internship, research and academic study program in the Dominican Republic. It offers international students the opportunity to research important topics at the forefront of the United Nations agenda, obtain professional experience by interning with Dominican organizations and businesses related to their fields of study and/or earn academic credits by taking courses and seminars at a local university.
