InteRDom participated for the first time in two back-to-back fairs at Michigan universities; the Global Opportunities Fair at Michigan State University on October 22nd, 2014, and the International Opportunities Fair at the University of Michigan on October 23rd, 2014. Each fair brought representatives from more than 30-40 international programs, and approximately 280 students at each fair, making these events some of the largest attended by InteRDom this year.
At the fairs, program representatives spoke with many students interested in the prospect of performing internships in the Dominican Republic, and networked with faculty and staff who were looking to create short programs or to help connect their students with internship opportunities in the Dominican Republic.
InteRDom, an initiative of Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) and Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (FUNGLODE), is the premier internship, research and academic study program in the Dominican Republic. It offers international students the opportunity to research important topics at the forefront of the United Nations agenda, obtain professional experience by interning with Dominican organizations and businesses related to their fields of study and/or earn academic credits by taking courses and seminars at a local university.
