For the second time this year, InteRDom visited Saint Peter’s University in New Jersey on September 18, 2014 to participate in the Study Abroad Fair put on by the Center for Global Learning. More than 20 international study and exchange programs were represented at the fair, including large study abroad programs such
a Cultural Vistas, international universities and Saint Peter’s short term and faculty led programs.
A campus rich in diversity and populated by many Dominican diaspora students, the InteRDom booth was very popular, as dozens of students received information about internships in their area of study from InteRDom representatives. Long-time friend and associate of the program, Dr. Alexander Mirescu, even stopped by the booth to say hello and bring some of his political science students to introduce to the program.
At the end of the fair, program representatives spoke with the Director of the Center for Global Learning in order to begin the process to establish an official partnership between the two institutions.
InteRDom, an initiative of Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) and Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (FUNGLODE), is the premier internship, research and academic study program in the Dominican Republic. It offers international students the opportunity to research important topics at the forefront of the United Nations agenda, obtain professional experience by interning with Dominican organizations and businesses related to their fields of study and/or earn academic credits by taking courses and seminars at a local university.
