InteRDom Provides Extra Resume-Boosting Opportunities for Participants Through Launch of Correspondent Program New York, May 7, 2012
InteRDom Internships in the Dominican Republic is pleased to announce the debut of a new program for students interested in boosting their resumes and collaborating with the InteRDom program through writing, communications and marketing: the InteRDom Correspondent Program.
Students qualify to participate in the program after they have been accepted and enrolled in any one of InteRDom’s programs of 10 weeks or longer in duration.
The Correspondent Program will provide an opportunity for students to send regular blogs before, during and after their study, research or internship in the Dominican Republic to share their experiences with future students, professors, family members and friends of the program. Once they have returned to their home institutions, InteRDom Correspondents turn into ambassadors of the InteRDom program and the Dominican Republic on their home campuses.
Correspondents will gain valuable experience in marketing and public relations by serving as the liaison on campus between the InteRDom program and their host institutions. They will be coached by the InteRDom marketing team on best practices and strategies to promote the Dominican Republic as a study, internship and research destination. Participants will also have a venue through which to improve their writing skills and to publish unique content.
Students qualify to participate in the program after they have been accepted and enrolled in any one of InteRDom’s programs of 10 weeks or longer in duration. A maximum of 3 students per program may participate, and all must have at least two semesters remaining at their home universities.
You can find published material from the InteRDom Correspondents on the InteRDom blog beginning in June 2012. Check back frequently to learn of all of the rich learning and professional development opportunities that the Dominican Republic has to offer.
The InteRDom blog aims to provide a forum for former, current and future students, professors, employers, experts and other collaborators of the InteRDom program to express ideas on topics related to the areas in which the program works, including international education, global business practices, career development strategies, Dominican and Caribbean issues and cross-cultural awareness. It is to provide useful information for students and to inspire lively debate and increased interest in intellectual exchange and the development of Hispaniola.
The internship program, InteRDom, an initiative of Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) and Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (FUNGLODE), is the premier internship, research and academic study program in the Dominican Republic. It offers international students the opportunity to research important topics at the forefront of the United Nations agenda, obtain professional experience by interning with Dominican organizations and businesses related to their fields of study and/or earn academic credits by taking courses and seminars at a local university.
